Traditional Dances from Ethiopia and Ghana

The website, All Around This World, has been so helpful for our students.  We have enjoyed watching and learning from the videos.  We are learning about the traditional dances from Ghana and Ethiopia.

KPANLOGO

The Kpanlogo is a dance created in the late 1950's to celebrate Ghana’s independence from the British. "The movements are bold and radiate joy," as one website put it.

ESKISTA

Eskista is a traditional Ethiopian cultural dance that men, women even children perform.  It is known for its intense shoulder movement.

Notice the difference in the music and movement as you watch each of the videos.
